RK Tunes, the West Babylon, New York, BMW shop behind the line “We have built the fastest BMWs for 15+ years,” is on its sixth car giveaway, and this one is a showcase build. The Official Rules award “a 2022 BMW M3 and a $10,000 cash award”; the site's footer names the car as “A 2022 BMW M3 Competition X drive”, BMW's all-wheel-drive Competition sedan.

The build sheet on the giveaway page, headed “Full mod list for this giveaway car”, claims 850 wheel horsepower and 700 lb-ft. Behind those numbers: the S58 inline-six with a “Single turbo kit” built around a “Precision 6670 turbo”, an “RK-Tunes custom tune”, an “RK-Tunes exhaust”, “Motiv reflex” and a “TMS plug and play harness”. RK Tunes quotes 2.6 seconds to 60 mph and a 9.5-second quarter mile. The chassis runs Adaptive M Suspension with BC Racing height-adjustable springs on chrome-finish forged wheels. Outside it's Mexico Blue paint with a carbon front lip, diffuser, trunk spoiler and side-skirt extensions; inside, orange leather, orange carbon bucket seats, carbon fiber trim, a custom steering wheel and RK-Tunes paddle shifters.

Anyone clicking through will notice the page's title still reads “Win a 2023 BMW M3 Competition X | RKTunes Giveaway #5” and its sticky button says “Enter Now — Win the 2023 BMW M3 Competition X”. That 2023 car was Giveaway #5's prize, a different M3; the Giveaway #6 rules award a 2022.

Why it matters

The G80 M3 Competition xDrive was already a very quick car: BMW rated its twin-turbo 3.0-liter S58 at 503 hp and 479 lb-ft, fed through an eight-speed automatic to a rear-biased M xDrive system that can also run in rear-drive mode. Replacing the factory twin turbos with one large Precision turbo is how S58 builds get past what the stock hardware can flow, and all-wheel drive is what gives a car like this a chance of putting 850 at the wheels to the ground.

What to weigh: 700 lb-ft is nearly half again BMW's torque figure, so the transmission, transfer case and axles are working well beyond their design brief, and the build's service records are the thing to ask about. A single-turbo car also lives on its calibration, so the winner inherits RK Tunes' tune along with the fuel and maintenance it was built around. The odometer reading isn't listed on the giveaway page or in the rules.

The fine print worth knowing

The build isn't written into the rules. The Official Rules describe the prize as “a 2022 BMW M3 and a $10,000 cash award” with an Approximate Retail Value of $95,000; the modifications, the 850-whp figure and the paint appear on the giveaway page, not in the rules. The rules also award the car “AS IS”, say the Sponsor “reserves the right to substitute the Prize with another of equal or greater value”, and add: “If the actual value of a Prize is lower than the stated ARV when a Prize is procured and fulfilled, then the difference will not be awarded.”

Emissions and inspection. “Prize vehicle may not meet safety or emissions testing required in some states, and/or counties/municipalities.” The check is the winner's: “The Winner is responsible to check their state/county for applicable emissions requirements and safety inspection requirements prior to accepting the Prize and must use vehicle in accordance with those regulations.” The clause exists because an engine-modified car can fail inspection where emissions programs are strict.

Taxes and paperwork. The rules say “an IRS Form 1099 will be filed in the name of the Winner for the value of the Prize”, and the $95,000 ARV includes the $10,000 cash. At a 24% federal rate, tax on $95,000 comes to $22,800 before any state tax, so the cash covers less than half of it. Registration and licensing costs are the winner's as well. A potential winner must return an Affidavit of Eligibility, Liability & Publicity “within seven (7) days”, including a Social Security number, and can be disqualified for not responding “within three (3) business days from the first notification attempt”. Disputes are individual only: the rules waive class actions and apply New York law.

How entries work. Entry is open to legal residents of the USA who are at least 18, or the age of majority in their state. Purchases earn “one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes for every one (1) whole dollar spent”, plus bonus entries during Bonus Entry Periods the Sponsor announces; in late September 2026 the cheapest entry pack was $20 for 3,600 entries. Free entry is by mail, on a hand-printed 3-by-5 card in a #10 envelope, and each one is worth five entries. A mail-in “postmarked during a Bonus Entry Period” gets “the equivalent multiplier of entries provided to purchases made at the Sponsor’s website” when the entrant writes the multiplier on the back of the envelope. The rules don't say which multiplier that means when entry packs carry different ones, and “If an Entrant lists a Bonus Period that is inaccurate with the postmark date, the entry will be disqualified.”

Two mail-in deadlines. The footer on every page of the site still says free entries “must be postmarked by September 9, 2026 and received by September 14, 2026”, which match Giveaway #5's Sept. 9 close, while the Giveaway #6 rules say “All entries must be postmarked by October 15, 2026, and received by October 20, 2026.” The two conflict; the rules say they “supersede all prior and contemporaneous agreements, representations, and understandings, whether oral or written.”

Drawing and winners. The Administrator, American Sweepstakes & Promotion Co., Inc. of Rochester, New York, draws the winner “on or about October 21, 2026”. The page lists the winners of RK Tunes' first four giveaways by first name and last initial.
