What you're looking at
The official rules describe the prize as "a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD 4x4 Extended Cab Duramax with approximately 81,000 miles" and value it at $17,999. It's a GMT800-generation heavy-duty, the boxy, last-of-the-old-school Silverado that a lot of diesel people still consider the sweet spot, and the 2005 model year means the LLY version of the 6.6-liter Duramax turbo-diesel V8.
The LLY replaced the original LB7 partway through 2004. It added a variable-geometry turbo and cooled EGR, and GM's headline rating was 310 hp and 605 lb-ft. What it doesn't have matters as much: no diesel particulate filter and no DEF system, both of which arrived with the LMM in the 2007.5 trucks. Fanathem's page adds that it is "Rated for up to 12,000 pounds of towing" and runs part-time four-wheel drive.
The photos show a light metallic truck with a cab-high camper shell, running boards, chrome steel wheels and Goodyear Wrangler tires. The rules list the truck itself and nothing else, so don't count on the shell. Trim level and transmission aren't stated either. GM offered 2005 Duramax 2500HDs with the Allison 1000 five-speed automatic or a ZF six-speed manual.
Why it matters
Eighty-one thousand miles is very little for a 21-year-old Duramax. Plenty of these trucks are past 200,000 and still working, so a clean, low-mileage pre-DPF example is the kind buyers hunt for. That's why the $17,999 figure reads as a fair number rather than an inflated one.
The things to check on any LLY are well known. They can run hot under sustained heavy towing, and many owners have upgraded the cooling system. Injectors gave far less trouble than on the LB7, but they aren't immune. On the GMT800 body, look at the rocker panels, cab corners and brake lines for rust, and at the steering linkage for front-end wear. The rules say the truck comes "AS IS" with no warranty, so a pre-delivery inspection is on the winner.
The fine print worth knowing
How entries are sold. Fanathem's pitch is "Every purchase is an automatic entry." At checkout, a $49 digital download earns 1 entry, a $79 two-download pack earns 5, and a $99 four-download pack earns 10. Three collectible mugs at $49 plus shipping earn 1 entry each. The rules give one entry per qualifying purchase, and five to ten per purchase during Bonus Entry Periods the sponsor announces. They don't name the multi-download bundles.
The free route. Mail a hand-printed 3x5 card with your name, mailing address, phone, date of birth and email to the address in the free-entry section. It must be postmarked by October 30, 2026 and received by November 4, 2026. Each card counts as one entry, and each envelope must be mailed on its own. The rules print no per-person cap on mail-in entries. A separate Instagram/X route is worth one entry, but it requires posting a photo of the limited-edition collectible.
Who can enter. Legal U.S. residents 18 or older (or the age of majority in their state), including D.C. Residents of Alaska, Florida, Hawaii and New York are excluded.
The drawing. The rules say "The Grand Prize drawing will be conducted on or about November 5, 2026." Fanathem's page says "A random winner is selected by our third-party sweepstakes company, American-Sweeps.com."
If you win. A potential winner who can't be reached, or doesn't follow the notification instructions within 24 hours of the first attempt, can be disqualified. The signed affidavit and release is due within seven days and asks for a Social Security number for tax reporting. A 1099 is filed in the winner's name for the prize value, so the winner owes income tax on $17,999. At a 22% federal bracket that's roughly $3,960 before any state tax.
Taking delivery. Fanathem's page says the "prize is delivered (up to 30 days after winner is notified)." The rules require "proof of a valid USA driver’s license from his/her state of residence in the USA to take delivery of vehicle" and add that "The Winner may be required to show proof of insurance prior to taking delivery and pick up vehicle as directed by Sponsor." They also put title, license, insurance, registration, taxes and any travel or transportation costs to collect the truck on the winner. The rules warn the truck may not pass smog or safety inspections in some states, and the winner is expected to check local requirements before accepting. The sponsor can substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
Who's behind it. The rules name the sponsor as Fanathem, Inc. of Morristown, New Jersey. They're governed by New Jersey law and limit disputes to individual claims in New Jersey courts, with no class actions. The campaign is promoted with creator partners, Hoovies Garage chief among them, but they all feed the same single drawing.

Why It's Special
A 2005 2500HD carries the LLY Duramax, one of the pre-DPF, pre-DEF diesels (2001–2007) that keep a following, and about 81,000 miles is low for a truck of this age.
Our value estimate
$18,000
Anchored to the sponsor's stated ARV of $17,999 for a 2005 Silverado 2500HD 4x4 extended cab Duramax with about 81,000 miles. We could not find three recent sold results for 2004.5–2005 LLY trucks inside the ±10% mileage band (roughly 73,000–89,000 miles). Dealer listings mostly show these trucks with 120,000 to 275,000 miles, and a 2005 2500HD LT Duramax with about 164,000 miles was advertised near $12,900 before it sold or was delisted. That's an asking price, not a confirmed sale. Given the low odometer, the ARV looks reasonable. Trim level, transmission and condition aren't stated in the rules and would move the figure in either direction.
