The build

LB8 is a 1986 Chevrolet K5 Blazer, the square-body two-door 4x4, reworked into what LB Motorsports' spec sheet calls a complete restomod. The big change is under the hood: a 6.0-liter LS V8 swap (the engine-bay photos show a Vortec 6000 cover) backed by a Turbo 400 three-speed automatic. Underneath are 8-lug axles and a custom 6-inch lift with an Icon steering stabilizer, on 17-inch Pro Comp wheels and 35-inch Toyo Open Country tires. The spec sheet also lists a full custom interior (black, diamond-stitched upholstery in the photos), Vintage A/C and an aftermarket sound system and head unit. The truck is white, and the operator's banner art names it Jolene.

Two gaps worth knowing: the listing doesn't give the odometer reading, and the giveaway page's spec list includes a line reading Denali Duramax that it doesn't explain. Duramax is GM's diesel engine family; the operator's own build-spec graphic leaves that line out and lists the engine as a 6.0 LS swap.

Why it matters

The 1973–91 K5 is the Blazer most people picture: a short, two-door, full-size 4x4 on Chevy's C/K pickup bones, with a removable top. Gas square bodies ran carburetors until GM brought in throttle-body injection for 1987, so a fuel-injected 6.0 LS is the swap that makes a 1986 start, idle and pull like a modern truck, and the TH400 behind it is the old-school automatic builders pick for strength over sophistication. The 8-lug axles are heavier-duty hardware than a half-ton K5's factory six-lug setup, which suits a truck on 35s.

What to check on any square-body build: rust in the cab corners, rocker panels, floors and rear wheel openings; how neatly the swap was wired and tuned; and highway manners. The TH400 has no overdrive, so cruising revs and fuel economy reflect that, and a 6-inch lift on 35-inch tires changes braking and steering feel. The rules also warn that prize vehicles "may not meet safety or emissions testing required in some states and/or counties" and add that "The Winner is responsible to check their state/county/province for applicable emissions requirements and safety inspection requirements prior to accepting the Prize."

The fine print worth knowing

Eligibility first. The rules open entry to "legal residents of the forty-eight (48) contiguous USA and D.C. (excluding Hawaii and Puerto Rico) or Canada (excluding Quebec)" who are 18 or the age of majority where they live; the site's FAQ shortens that to "a legal resident of the U.S. or Canada (excluding Quebec)." The rules also say: "IF AN ENTRANT (OR SOMEONE IN THE ENTRANT’S IMMEDIATE HOUSEHOLD) HAS WON A SWEEPSTAKES OR CONTEST PRIZE WITHIN THE PAST TWELVE (12) CALENDAR MONTHS, THE ENTRANT IS INELIGIBLE IN THIS SWEEPSTAKES." The clause doesn't say whether it covers only LB Motorsports' own promotions or any sweepstakes or contest.

Canadian entrants face a second wrinkle: the prize section says the winner "must have proof of a valid USA driver’s license from his/her state of residence to take delivery of vehicle" and that "failure to show same may result in Prize forfeiture and selection of an alternate Winner." The rules don't say how a Canadian winner meets that.

How entry works: purchases earn "one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes for each one (1) whole dollar spent," multiplied during sponsor-announced bonus periods (the rules' example: "Earn ten (10) entries (Multiplier) for every $1.00 spent"). The cheapest items in the shop are $20, and entry packs are listed at 5,000 entries for $50, 30,000 for $100 and 100,000 for $200. The free route is an online form good for one free entry pack per day: "Each free entry pack received will be worth three hundred (300) Sweepstakes entries," and a pack claimed during a bonus period is multiplied too ("Example: 5X Bonus Period would equal fifteen hundred (1500) entries"). The form takes your name, email, phone and home address, plus one photo showing your driver's license next to a 3x5-inch card or paper on which you've hand-printed the date, the giveaway's name, your full name, date of birth, home address and signature; the AMOE page says improperly sized cards earn no entries. It's one pack per day ("BREAKING THIS RULE WILL VOID ANY FREE ENTRIES SUBMITTED"), and all forms are due before 11:59:59 p.m. ET on November 1, 2026.

The drawing: the Administrator, American Sweepstakes & Promotion Co., Inc. of Rochester, New York, selects the potential winner in a random drawing "on or about November 2, 2026," and the winner's name is to be announced at shoplbmotorsports.com "on or about November 6, 2026 or after the winner has been verified." The sponsor is L Blair Motorsports LLC of Cleburne, Texas.

What the winner takes on: the rules offer no cash alternative, and the truck, which the sponsor values at $40,000, is delivered "AS IS." The winner must "agree to visit the Sponsors specified Location within 90 days after validation" and pays title, license, insurance, registration and taxes, "including any travel and transportation costs associated with collecting the vehicle." The rules say "an IRS Form 1099 will be filed in the name of the Winner for the value of the Prize," and the eligibility affidavit, due back within five days, asks for a Social Security number. A potential winner who can't be reached or doesn't respond "within two (2) business days from the first notification attempt" is disqualified, and the sponsor may pick an alternate. The sponsor also "reserves the right at its sole discretion to substitute the Prize with another prize of equal or greater value," and disputes are to be "resolved individually without resort to any form of class action" in North Carolina courts.

Why It's Special

Not rare as a model (GM built the square-body K5 from 1973 to 1991), but fully sorted restomods with an EFI LS swap, heavy-duty 8-lug axles and a redone interior are a small slice of the square-body market.

Our value estimate

$40,000

Anchored to the sponsor's own number: the official rules put the truck's approximate retail value at $40,000, and they offer no cash alternative. The odometer reading isn't given, and on an engine-swapped, lifted 1986 truck the quality of the swap, rust repair and paperwork move the value at least as much as miles would. Asking prices for 1986 K5s run from roughly $20,000 for driver-grade trucks to $50,000-plus for sorted LS-swapped builds; we couldn't pin down three recent sales of closely matched builds, so we haven't moved off the operator's figure. It's an editorial estimate, not an appraisal. What arrives also costs money: the winner pays taxes (a 1099 is filed for the prize's value), title, registration and insurance, plus travel and transportation to collect the truck, and must agree to visit the sponsor's specified location within 90 days after validation.

Editorial estimate based on recent comparable sales — not an appraisal.
