What you're looking at

This is a 2008 BMW E92 M3 built as a track car, not a garage queen. Under the hood is the S65 4.0-liter V8 — the high-revving, naturally aspirated engine that makes the E92 the M3 enthusiasts still chase — and the rest of the car has been worked over to match. Fortune Auto coilovers handle the corners, a set of 18-inch Volk TE37s sit under wide carbon aero (GT4-style front splitter, side splitters, V-style rear diffuser, Ridgeline wing), and a Valvetronic full exhaust lets that V8 breathe. Inside it's all business: NRG bucket seats, NRG four-point harnesses, an Autopower race roll cage, an M Performance wheel and extended paddle shifters, finished in a Voir-colored PPF wrap.

Why it matters & the fine print

Clean low-mile E92 M3s now trade from the high-$30s into six figures; a pristine 725-mile Competition coupe set an E92 record at $212,892 in April 2026. This isn't one of those — ~155,000 miles and a welded-in cage put it at the affordable end as a finished, sorted track build where someone else already spent the money on aero, coilovers, seats and wheels. Paid entry starts at $35 (Bronze, 20 entries) up to Diamond at $200. Crucially there's a free route: a mail-in 3x5 card earns the same 20 entries as the cheapest paid tier (postmark by June 22, 2026, received by June 26). Open to legal US residents (50 states + DC), 18+, valid license to claim. The winner covers all licensing, insurance, title and registration — and no cash alternative is offered. Drawing on or about June 29, 2026.

Why It's Special

Not a rare-spec E92 (no Competition Package or GTS provenance noted); the value story is the build, not the VIN. The naturally aspirated S65 V8 makes any clean E92 M3 collectible, but the Autopower cage and stripped, harnessed cockpit mark this as a purpose-built track car rather than a preservation-grade example.

Our value estimate

$17,000

Sponsor's official rules state an ARV of $17,000, carried as the headline figure. Consistent with a high-mileage, caged build: 2008 E92 M3 coupes span a huge range — a 73k-mile car sold ~$40k and a 725-mile Competition coupe set a record at $212,892 in April 2026, while the documented BaT low is ~$14,000 for a high-mile car. This example has ~155,000 miles AND a welded-in cage, both pushing it to the bottom of the resale band — caged track-prepped M3s are valued for their hardware, not as clean street cars. $17,000 reads defensible as-equipped.

Editorial estimate based on recent comparable sales — not an appraisal.
