What you're looking at
An Aspen White 2006 Impreza WRX STI with 99,000 original miles, described as a California car built and tuned in San Diego. The bones are the good ones: 2.5-liter turbo boxer, six-speed manual, symmetrical all-wheel drive with the driver-controlled center diff.
The build is a coherent big-turbo E85 setup rather than a parts-bin collection. A TD05 20G sits behind GT Spec equal-length headers and an up-pipe, breathing through a Perrin cold-air intake and turbo inlet and a GT Spec 3.5-inch front-mount intercooler. Fueling has been done properly for ethanol — ID1050x top-feed injectors with rails and lines, an AEM 340 LPH pump, an Aeromotive regulator, and a Cobb flex-fuel kit with ethanol sensor so the Accessport V3 can switch maps between E85 and 93. Delicious Tuning wrote the calibration. Supporting work covers TGV deletes, an HKS blow-off valve, a Cobb three-port boost solenoid, an ACT 6-puck clutch, KW Variant 3 coilovers, a GT Spec X-brace and strut tower brace, DEFI gauges and a Kartboy short shifter.
No dyno figure is published, which is worth saying out loud. A 20G on E85 with that fuel system is a meaningful jump over the stock 293 hp, but the number is not printed anywhere, so we are not putting one on it.
Why it matters
2006 is the Hawkeye — the last facelift of the second-generation Impreza, and with 2007 the end of the wide-body STI sedan in the US before the 2008 hatchback. That combination of wide arches, the DCCD six-speed and the EJ has aged into genuine collector interest, and clean unmodified cars now trade well above what they cost new.
This is the other version of that story: the driven, developed one. An ACT 6-puck and 6-puck pedal feel, coilovers, a big single scroll turbo that wants revs — it is a car built to be used, and it has been. Ninety-nine thousand miles on an EJ25 is the point at which you want to know about ringland history, and a heavily boosted example on pump-and-E85 duty deserves a compression test and a look at the service file regardless of how it presents. That is not a knock on the car; it is what any buyer would do, and a winner should do it too.
The fine print worth knowing
The most important line is in the rules, not the marketing. Prime Driven's official rules for PDG331 state: "There will be one (1) Grand Prize available... will receive a 2006 Subaru STI with approximately 99,000 miles. Grand Prize ARV - $4,900. The Winner will also have the option to accept a $4,900 USD cash award in lieu of the aforementioned Prize."
In plain numbers: the operative legal document values this car at $4,900, and sets the cash-instead-of-car option at $4,900. Comparable 2006 STIs trade roughly between $14,500 and $29,000 depending on mileage and condition, and the modification list above exceeds $4,900 in parts alone. Neither the homepage, the entry products nor the FAQ mentions either figure. Separately, and as a matter of public record: New York and Florida require a sweepstakes to register and post a surety bond once total prize value exceeds $5,000. The declared value here is $4,900. We report both facts and draw no conclusion about why the number was set where it was.
On the mechanics. Entries accrue at one entry per $25 spent, on anything in the store — the PDG331 digital-poster tiers run $25 (1 entry), $50 (2), $100 (4) and $200 (8), and apparel counts too. The close is whichever-comes-first: the rules run the period from 12:00:01 a.m. PST on September 8, 2026 to "11:59:59 p.m. PST on September 10, 2026, OR as soon as one thousand five hundred (1,500) different Entrants have entered the Sweepstakes, whatever happens first." That resolves an ambiguity in the homepage banner: the 1,500 cap counts distinct entrants, not entries. Your individual odds still depend on total entries, since one person can hold eight of them.
There is a genuine free route — a hand-printed 3x5 card mailed to the sponsor's New Jersey address, postmarked by September 10 and received by September 15 — reproduced word-for-word in the free-entry field on this page. Entry is open to US residents 18 or older excluding Alaska and Hawaii. The drawing is run by a named outside firm, American Sweepstakes and Promotion Co., Inc., with the winner contacted approximately seven days after the giveaway ends. One transparency note: the past-winners page identifies winners by number — "Winner 327" — with labels such as "HE TOOK THE CASH" rather than names, so past results cannot be checked independently from the site alone. Federal and state income tax on the prize is the winner's responsibility, as with any sweepstakes.

Why It's Special
2006 brought the "Hawkeye" facelift — the final face of the second-generation Impreza, and with 2007 the last of the wide-body STI sedans in the US before the hatchback took over for 2008. It is the generation enthusiasts have quietly bid up: wide arches, hood scoop, DCCD-equipped six-speed, and a clean unmodified example now costs well past what it stickered for new. This car is not that example. It is a running big-turbo E85 build with 99,000 miles, which is its own kind of appeal but is not the spec the collector market pays the top numbers for.
Our value estimate
$22,000
Start with the number Prime Driven publishes itself. The official rules for PDG331 read "Grand Prize ARV - $4,900," and give the winner "the option to accept a $4,900 USD cash award in lieu of the aforementioned Prize." That figure does not describe this car. The build sheet on the giveaway page — TD05 20G turbo, Cobb Accessport V3 and flex-fuel kit, ID1050x injectors, GT Spec intercooler and equal-length headers, KW Variant 3 coilovers, ACT 6-puck clutch — is worth more than $4,900 in parts before anyone touches the car, and a titled, running 2006 STI is not a $4,900 car in any market. Our $22,000 estimate values the car, not the rules figure. A 99,000-mile Hawkeye sits between the general used market and the collector market: Cars.com''s nationwide average for a 2006 Impreza WRX STI runs about $21,900, with examples listed from roughly $14,500 to $28,000; KBB puts fair purchase price near $14,800 for a stock car; and Classic.com''s second-generation WRX STI average sits at $28,994, across the lower-mileage and mostly unmodified cars that reach enthusiast auctions. Heavy modification is value-neutral at best against a stock comparison — the parts are real money, but a big-turbo E85 build narrows the buyer pool — so this lands above a stock private-party car and below the collector average. Recent individual auction results matched to the 99,000-mile band were thin, so this leans on those market aggregates rather than three mileage-matched sales, and condition, service history and title status would move it in either direction. The practical point for anyone entering: whatever the car is worth on the open market, the cash alternative written into the rules is $4,900.
Editorial estimate based on recent comparable sales — not an appraisal.
